Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

AYAD Information Sessions

  • Date: January 2009
  • Venue: All Capital cities, Australia
  • Host: Australian Youth Ambassadors
  • AusAID's Australian Youth Ambassadors for Development Program, supports skilled young Australian's (18-30) who want to live, work and make a difference in the Asia Pacific region.

    Information sessions will be held in all capital cities between the 12th and 22nd of January 2009.

    Australian Youth Ambassadors (AYAD) information sessions are a great opportunity to learn more about the AYAD Program and have all your questions answered. There is also an opportunity to speak with a Returned Australian Youth Ambassador for Development (RAYAD) about their experiences.

    AYAD information sessions are held across Australia throughout the year. Sessions run for 1.5 hours and it is important to register online if you wish to attend.

Developing a Human Resources Strategy

  • Date: 12 Feb 2009
  • Venue: Melbourne, Australia

  • The workshop is aimed at Human Resources staff involved in strategic planning within their organisation.

    It will provide an opportunity for participants to develop their skills in this area, to discuss case studies presented by a small number of organisations, and to learn from and share with other participants the common issues, concerns around strategy development and possible solutions.

    People in Aid are seeking expressions of interest from organisations who believe they may be interested by Sept 10, 2008.

Building HR Capacity Workshop

  • Date: 13 Feb 2009
  • Venue: Melbourne, Australia

  • People In Aid is offering a one day workshop focused on Building HR Capacity aimed at Human Resources staff working at a senior and middle management level within their organisation.

    There will be the opportunity to discuss case studies presented by other organisations and to learn from and share with other participants.

    The purpose of this workshop is to give HR professionals the opportunity to focus on how they can develop the capacity of the HR function and that of line managers to meet these changing organisational needs and ensure the delivery of high quality people management.
