Australian Development Gateway

The Australian Development Gateway (ADG) strives to support members of the development community in their efforts to reduce poverty and enhance sustainable development in the Asia Pacific region. The site has been created with participation from members of government, private, academia and non-government organisations. User feedback mechanisms have been incorporated to guide future directions of the site. The site is optimised for low bandwidth access to enable the widest participation throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Effective community based responses to HIV in Asia: an update on emerging trends, latest evidence & current challenges

  • This intensive six day course is held specifically for North East Asian participants planning to work on HIV programs in developing countries or participants from Asian developing countries already involved in HIV work.

    The course will highlight emerging evidence and policy and present a variety of effective community-based responses to the epidemic drawn from the Asian context. It will take participants through the key issues in assessing risks and vulnerabilities associated with HIV at a community level, and highlight contemporary approaches to effective responses.

    The course will include a number of participatory case studies reflecting on lessons learned from HIV programs in the region.

    It will be delivered in the English language and therefore it is expected that participants will have reasonable competence in spoken & written English.

HIV Monitoring & Evaluation Course: Centre for International Health, Curtin University

  • This course is intended for postgraduate students and has been designed to equip HIV/AIDS practitioners with the concepts and practical skills required to design and manage effective monitoring and evaluation systems.

    It is intended for students with an interest in international and public health whose future employment will take them into the agencies and government organisations with responsibilities for HIV M&E planning and implementation, HIV project management and research work and information and line management.

    The programme is attractive to people working in Australia and intending to work overseas or people currently working in PNG, the South Pacific Region as well as South East Asia and Africa.
